We are seeking a professional with solid experience in the Procurement area for national and international direct materials, to lead negotiations with suppliers in the categories of plastics, aluminum, metal, among others.
This professional will be involved in cost reduction projects, sourcing, and the strategic commercial and performance management of the suppliers under their responsibility.
Activities/Responsibilities and Duties:
• Request for quotations and management of supplier contracts for materials such as plastics (injection/blow/rotomolded), aluminum injection, packaging, fasteners, machined and stamped parts, chemicals, adhesives, rubber, etc.
• Must understand the production processes of products.
• Cost breakdown analysis and cost comparisons.
• Experience with projects involving cost reduction/outsourcing/localization.
• Development of new products through the APQP process, from feasibility study, supplier definition, quotation requests, project cost analysis, tooling and fixture construction management, receipt of prototype parts, tryouts, PPAP approval, and SOP.
• Global alignment regarding the progress of new projects and category strategies.
• Lead conference calls with members from the USA, Mexico, and Europe.
Must-have Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, or related fields.
• Advanced/Fluent English.
• At least 3 years of experience in International Purchasing.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Technical Purchasing.
• Knowledge of APQP/PPAP processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Negotiation techniques.
Nice to Have:
• Postgraduate education (MBA, etc.) in Purchasing or Project Management/Supply Chain.
• Experience in large-scale negotiations.
• Knowledge of Quality Tools (Core Tools).
• Knowledge of SOX regulations applied to purchasing.
• Intermediate Spanish.
• Experience in the Automotive market.
