We’re Ummy — a family wellness brand that combines nutrition, storytelling, and animation to make healthy living fun and memorable for families. Our flagship product, Ummy Kids Superfood Shakes, features lovable characters like Bernie the Bear, Lucy the Llama, Marley the Monkey, and Professor Hoot from our children’s book The Magical Superfood Adventure. We’re now expanding into animated storytelling to bring these characters to life through short episodes that blend wellness, humor, and heart. We call what we’re building “Wellness Media” — a new category that merges clean nutrition with storytelling and imagination. Our goal is to inspire healthier families through joyful, character-driven content that kids love and parents trust. Each Ummy short will exist inside the world of Evergreen Valley — a bright, nature-inspired setting where our characters explore friendship, curiosity, and the importance of healthy habits in everyday life. We’re looking for a talented 2D animator or small studio to help us create a series of short, story-based animations ranging from 30 to 90 seconds each. These will be published across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok to build awareness for our brand and connect with families through entertainment. Our first project will be a single 60–90 second pilot short, which, if successful, will lead to a mini-series of five to ten episodes. You will be responsible for managing the animation process from start to finish — including storyboarding, visual storytelling, voiceovers, sound design, and final animation. We already have brand assets, character references, and general creative direction. What we need is someone who can take these ingredients and craft short, expressive stories that emotionally connect with both children and adults. We previously produced a test short called Bubble Splash, which shows our intended tone and pacing. This time, we’re aiming for smoother animation, richer character expressions, and more personality in each scene. The ideal partner will have strong experience in 2D animation and a good sense of timing, motion, and emotion. You should be comfortable designing or refining storyboards, directing light voice acting, and adding sound effects or background music that enhance the story. Familiarity with software such as Toon Boom, Adobe Animate, or After Effects is preferred, as well as experience working with existing characters and maintaining brand consistency across projects. We’re looking for an animator or studio that understands children’s storytelling — someone who can capture the heart and warmth of shows like Bluey, StoryBots, or Cocomelon. The animation should be simple yet expressive, with clean lines, soft colors, and a clear focus on emotion and story rather than complex motion or heavy detail. The tone should always remain positive, heart-centered, and engaging for preschool and family audiences. The first short will serve as a creative pilot. It should be roughly 60–90 seconds long and deliver both a full horizontal version (16:9) and a vertical version (9:16) for social media. We’ll provide our brand guide, character reference sheets, color palette, and general creative notes. You’ll develop a simple storyboard, handle the voiceover and sound, and deliver the final rendered animation along with the project source files. This is a fixed-price project with a total budget range of $800 to $1,200 for the first short. We want to find the right creative partner who can grow with us long-term as we expand into more episodes and future storytelling formats. Payment will be structured in milestones, typically divided into concept/storyboard approval, rough animation draft, and final delivery. Once the pilot is complete, we plan to produce additional shorts on an ongoing basis, so there’s significant opportunity for recurring work if we’re a good creative fit. We welcome applicants from around the world. Ideal regions include the Philippines, Eastern Europe (Poland, Ukraine, Serbia, Romania), Latin America (Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico), and India or Indonesia — areas known for strong 2D animation and storytelling talent. English communication is important, and availability within a PST ± 3 hour window is preferred but not required. If you’ve worked on children’s animation before — especially with talking animal characters or educational/family content — we’d love to see your work. Please include links to previous projects that show character expression, humor, and storytelling ability. In your message, tell us a bit about how you’d approach the Ummy world stylistically and what tools you typically use for animation and post-production. Also let us know your estimated timeline, rate per finished minute of animation, and whether you can include voice and sound services as part of your workflow. We’re looking for someone who cares about story and emotion — not just motion. This project isn’t about flashiness; it’s about warmth, timing, and the kind of charm that makes a family want to watch together. If you’re an animator who loves building worlds, giving life to characters, and creating content that makes kids smile and parents proud, you’ll fit right in with us. Ummy is growing quickly as a wellness brand that blends food, media, and education. Our products are already on the market, and our characters are becoming a core part of our identity. This animation project is a major step in building our transmedia universe — one that merges clean-label nutrition with storytelling that promotes health, kindness, and imagination. If you’re ready to be part of something new — a brand that’s reimagining how wellness and storytelling come together — we’d love to hear from you. Let’s create something magical that inspires families everywhere, one shake and one story at a time.
