What you will do The Analytical Senior Scientist will be responsible to independently lead the strategy and execute lab activities (validation, transfer, stability analysis, etc) for global and regional projects of cosmetics development (Skin Health), mainly focused on global Sun portfolio, ensuring business continuity through science and supporting the development of products marketed for all regions (LatAm, NA, EMEA and APAC). This includes defining the analytical strategy of test method validation/transfer and the strategy for stability studies to define the shelf life of the products. Execution of lab tests (including stability analysis), planning, timing, resource requirements and interdependencies to complete the project deliverables are also part of the scope. This individual will write and review technical documents including analytical method assessments, protocols and reports (test method validation/transfer and stability studies) in compliance with standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements. Analytical Senior Scientist will also have the responsibility to lead lab activities related to troubleshooting solving, lab investigations and material characterization, running analysis and independently operating equipment as HPLC/UPLC, GC-FID, GC-MS, electronic microscopes, DSC, TGA, among others. Key Responsibilities: Lead projects as analytical representative in the end-to-end path of the development of new cosmetic products. Define analytical and stability deliverables, ensure proper stakeholders are defined and informed. Define the analytical/stability strategy of the projects and lead the execution (development, validation, transfer, stability analysis, investigations, etc) at laboratory environment. Communicate analytical leadership on issues which require escalation. Coach younger professionals, contributing with their technical development. Strong sense of urgency is needed to actively respond to problems and opportunities. Communicate clearly with the internal organization (Kenvue areas) and with the global teams in forums related to projects and processes. Lead complexity and be innovative to find alternative solutions when required. Collaborate effectively with project members following priorities, checkpoints, and timelines in support of objective. Have a digital and data-driven mindset to find opportunities to improve our process in a pro-active way. Support the leadership during audits and ispections What we are looking for Required Qualifications: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 5 years of analytical chemistry experience OR a Master’s degree and 3 years of analytical chemistry experience OR a PhD is required. A focused degree in Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Chemistry is preferred. Strong analytical background in HPLC, UPLC, GC, spectroscopy and microscopy is required. Experience in Cosmetic, Pharmaceutical, Food or Chemical Industry is required. Fluent level of English. Good communication and collaboration skills with different areas and cultures; team work; ability to work on a cross-functional team in person or via teleconference as an individual contributor. Desired Qualifications: Previous experience in management of stability studies will be considered as a differential. Experience in implementing technical projects or in site issues support to manufacturing/production area is a differential. Knowledge about the regulations and/or guidelines related to method development & validation for drug products, drug substance and/or cosmetics is desirable for this position. It is preferred that this candidate have strong technical writing skills and project management skills. Experience in systems as EMPOWER and LIMS is desirable.
