Job Description: Project Overview: We are a US-based company establishing a rare earth oxide distribution business focused on serving American manufacturers seeking non-Chinese supply alternatives. We need an experienced Brazilian business development professional to help us establish a strategic partnership with Brazil's rare earth producers Your Role: You will serve as our Brazil-based representative to: Make initial contact with commercial team in professional Portuguese Navigate Brazilian business culture and communication norms Facilitate discussions about exclusive US distribution arrangements Gather critical commercial information (MOQs, pricing, terms) Build relationship and trust with REM company leadership Coordinate meetings and site visits if needed Provide cultural and strategic guidance throughout negotiation Ideal Candidate: Required: Native Portuguese speaker with excellent English (written and spoken) Based in Brazil with ability to travel to Goiás state if needed 5+ years experience in mining, commodities trading, or industrial B2B sales Proven track record of business development with Brazilian companies Professional network in Brazilian mining or export sectors Understanding of international trade and distribution agreements Preferred: Experience with rare earth elements, specialty minerals, or critical materials Previous work with mining companies in Goiás or similar regions Technical background (mining engineering, geology, metallurgy, chemistry) Existing relationships at Serra Verde or similar companies Experience negotiating commercial partnerships or offtake agreements Project Scope - Phase 1 (Month 1-2): Research REMS like Serra Verde's commercial structure and key decision-makers Develop culturally appropriate outreach strategy Make initial contact with REMs like Serra Verde commercial team Schedule and facilitate introductory meeting/call Gather key commercial information: Minimum order quantities Pricing structure for large customers Current US distribution strategy Openness to exclusive partnerships Technical specifications and certifications Phase 2 (Month 2-4) - If Phase 1 Successful: Lead relationship development with Serra Verde team Facilitate detailed partnership discussions Coordinate due diligence process (site visit, documentation) Assist with negotiation strategy and cultural navigation Help structure mutually beneficial agreement terms Support contract development and finalization Compensation Structure: Phase 1 (Discovery & Initial Contact): Fixed fee: $3,000-5,000 USD Duration: 1-2 months Deliverables: Initial contact made, key information gathered, relationship established Phase 2 (Partnership Development): Monthly retainer: $2,000-3,000 USD Success bonus: $10,000-15,000 USD upon signed exclusive distribution agreement Duration: 2-4 months Potential for ongoing advisory role Ongoing (If Partnership Succeeds): Options: Monthly retainer for continued relationship management OR Commission on volumes (0.5-1% of annual purchases) OR Advisory role with equity stake in US entity To Apply, Please Include: Your Background: Brief summary of your experience in mining/commodities/B2B sales Brazilian Mining Network: Describe your connections in Brazilian mining sector (no need to name contacts) Relevant Experience: Examples of similar business development projects you've executed Serra Verde Knowledge: What you know about Serra Verde or rare earth industry in Brazil Your Approach: How would you approach making initial contact with Serra Verde?
