We are looking for a buttoned-up talent recruiter to craft our expanding café and retail team. Our ideal candidate is organized, positive, creative, can read between the lines of a resume, and is a strategic thought partner to our management team. We take hiring more seriously than most and view our hospitality as a key strategic initiative in our organization. Our current team is tight-knit, positive, kind, humble, and drama free. We've worked together for many years and we'd like to work with folks who have a genuine passion for team building too. Longer-term engagements are possible assuming the fit is right. Tasks include: - Help screen and hire seasonal and retail team members over the next 60 days whom we can depend upon to reach our holiday goals during the most busy period of our year. - Flag any candidates who may need to be considered more quickly so we donʻt lose out on noteworthy talent - Screen inbound resumes and provide feedback that our HR team can use to respond to candidates within 3-5 days - When screening candidates or doing references, provide detailed near-verbatim phone screen notes (or use dictation tools with permission) for managers and team to review - Proactively make recommendations so the candidate experience continues to improve - Assist with weekly reports and metrics - Other tasks as necessary Please be sure to highlight if you have the following: - Previous experience managing a team within or recruiting for retail, cafés (especially with specialty coffee), kitchen, hospitality, health care, or manufacturing environments - Familiarity with the San Francisco geography and local businesses - Previous experience sourcing for non-tech roles People who have been successful in this role include: - A previous Assistant Manager for a well-known SF artisan food establishment who moved away from the area and was looking for remote work - A very organized psychology major 3-5 years out of school who wanted to break into recruiting long-term and had lived in the SF Mission District - A former Marketer who started their profession in retail jobs and understood the importance of good teamwork in a retail and café setting Requirements include: - Available for 15-25 hours/week - Previous screening experience - Experience with job boards, boolean searches, using AI tools, or other creative techniques to consistently keep a candidate funnel filled is a plus but not required - Google suite fluency including light formulas (you'll be working with templates most of the time but it's helpful to know how formulas work) - Willingness to try new tools and approaches - You have previous experience working in a team environment. You'll be working with managers who might be working extra hours after a team member departs suddenly.
