- The Role
- This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate eager to help leading companies navigate and succeed in the fast-changing base metals, steel and ferro-alloys markets.
- The consultant will support and partner with other members of the consulting and research teams, focusing on delivering custom consulting and research projects that span the base metals, steel and ferro-alloys markets. Specifically, you will deliver projects that include tailored market overviews and outlooks, feasibility assessments and analysis, industry cost modelling and analysis, supply-chain mapping and material sourcing strategies, and other bespoke engagements.
- You will be joining a dynamic global team dedicated to understanding the rapidly evolving base, steel and ferro-alloys markets. You will leverage Fastmarkets’ existing data, insights and analyst team as an integral component of our consulting delivery.
- The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced and innovative environment, have a can-do attitude and can juggle a wide variety of tasks and projects.
- Principal accountabilities
- Executing, and project managing a range of market related consultancy projects
- Conducting new research and analysing and customising existing data (self-sufficiently and in collaboration with other subject-matter experts) that is robust, accurate, and well-researched.
- Updating and customizing house forecasts, including supply, demand, capacity, cost, and other critical metrics.
- Developing and delivering compelling and impactful high-quality content and deliverables with a strong client focus.
- Ensuring consultancy projects are delivered on-time, and in-line with both client requirements, project scope and profit targets.
- Supporting and working closely with the sales team in bidding and winning consultancy engagements.
- Utilising professional networks to surface opportunities and to source independent contractors to support delivery of engagements.

- KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, driven, and have a passion to be part of a fast-paced, successful team. Being a strong team player is also important as well as someone who is happy to work flexibly.
- 4+ years of consulting or related experience in commodities consulting and research.
- Knowledge of base metals, steel and/or ferro-alloys markets.
- Ability and experience in managing and conducting commodity market studies both independently and as a member of a globally distributed team.
- Experience in project execution/management involving single-client consultancy services work.
- Experience in client relationship management.
- Effective and confident communication in person, in written/slide format, and online.
- Fluent in English, a second language preferred.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel when required.
- Self-starter, with strong personal drive is essential, with the ability to thrive in a multitasking environment.
- Accountable and performance driven.
- Effective and amiable team player keen on making clients, project members, and colleagues happy while achieving ambitious objectives.
