You will guarantee execution of statistical and machine learning algorithms to support demand planning process for Latin America markets. You will identify & analyse raw data, obtain insights from it, and share them across dashboards to help business make better and more accurate decisions in the supply chain. How you will contribute You will: Develop and run codes to check master data and provide insights that help users to have the right data stored in system Adapt, execute, and maintain R algorithms to obtain demand forecast for each business unit portfolio. Analyse and define the best hyperparameters to have more accurate models. Measure and analyse forecast accuracy and execute activities to improve results. Support deployment and implementation of different tools related with data, automation, and planning like NPD (New Product Development) Forecasting Tool, o9, Data Lakes, Disaggregation tools. Standardize and migrate forecasting codes and tools to cloud solutions like Azure, Google Cloud Platform, R Studio Connect, Databricks. Support final users with trainings, explanation and guides in topics related with data for demand planning. Have cross-functional understanding about planning process to propose and develop some code’s & tool’s adjustments according business requirements. What you need to know about this position: The Forecasting Data Scientist will be responsible for advanced forecasting methodologies to generate accuracy and bias improvements. She/he will be required to: Execute, adapt, and maintain the best Statistical models be to be used, to generate high quality demand statistical forecast with low forecast error and bias. Collaborate with Demand Planners to identify the right drivers and levers that influences demand and thus incorporate into the statistical forecasting process. Analyse the model performance every month where MAPE (Main Absolute Percentage Error) is deteriorating and post process the output, applying fine tune adjustments as needed. Run centralized master data check and generate (with algorithms) some complementary products’ attributes like segmentation, life cycle status, and seasonality. Be the SME (Subject Matter Expert) that supports deployment of different Data Science projects with local and external teams, specially O9 deployment. Education / Certifications: Bachelor's Degree in a technical career related with Stat, Math, Computer Science or Demand is required. Master’s in quantitative field of Statistics, Applied Mathematics or Engineering, with specific full-time courses in Analytics preferred. Experience and knowledge of predictive techniques and time series analysis using statistics, machine learning, or artificial intelligence approaches. Experience in any Data Science language like R Python, PySpark(preferred), Julia, or MATLAB. Knowledge or experience in data science cloud platforms like Databricks is a nice to have. Knowledge or experience in planning platforms like o9 is a nice to have. Experience on working with FMCG, Food & Beverages, Retail, or similar industry data with understanding the business process will be an advantage. Should be able to articulate data science outcome into business understandable language. Fluent English and Spanish is a must.
