Data Security – Microsoft Purview (Bilingual: English & Spanish) rch Position Summary: The Data Security – Microsoft Purview (Bilingual: English & Spanish) is responsible for architecting, implementing, and maintaining advanced data protection and governance controls across Microsoft 365 and Azure environments. This role will lead the design and deployment of Microsoft Purview Information Protection, DLP, Insider Risk Management, Records Management, and Compliance solutions to protect sensitive data and ensure regulatory compliance. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is essential to support global teams, facilitate training sessions, and ensure consistent implementation of data protection policies across multilingual environments. Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategy & Architecture Develop enterprise data security architecture leveraging Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365 compliance capabilities. Define and maintain sensitivity labels, DLP policies, and retention labels aligned with organizational and regulatory frameworks. Create a unified data classification taxonomy across English and Spanish-speaking regions. Provide architectural direction for Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) and AI data governance. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex compliance requirements into technical designs. 2. Implementation & Engineering Deploy and configure Microsoft Purview Information Protection for structured and unstructured data. Implement and manage DLP policies across Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams. Design and optimize auto-labeling and custom data classifiers using regex and ML-based classifiers. Integrate Purview with Intune, Defender for Cloud Apps, and Sentinel for unified governance. Conduct data discovery and classification across multi-cloud and hybrid environments. Develop bilingual technical documentation and operational guides (English and Spanish). 3. Compliance & Governance Ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and NIST standards. Collaborate with legal and data privacy teams across English and Spanish-speaking jurisdictions. Maintain records of processing activities and ensure data sovereignty compliance. Lead or support bilingual training and awareness sessions for security and compliance teams. 4. Automation & Continuous Improvement Automate policy enforcement and reporting using PowerShell, Graph API, and Logic Apps. Review new Microsoft Purview and Compliance updates for adoption and optimization. Train and mentor bilingual team members on Purview and data protection practices. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related discipline. 5+ years experience in data security or compliance engineering, including 2+ years with Microsoft Purview or Microsoft Information Protection. Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance Center, Entra ID (Azure AD), and Microsoft Defender suite. Proven ability to implement DLP, retention, information governance, and insider risk management solutions. Proficiency with PowerShell scripting and Microsoft Graph API. Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken). Excellent ability to produce bilingual documentation, deliver presentations, and support regional compliance efforts. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT Security, or Information Governance. Experience with DSPM tools (e.g., BigID, Symmetry, Laminar). Experience supporting multinational environments with cross-border data transfer requirements. Experience implementing AI governance within Microsoft Purview. Certifications (Highly Recommended): Microsoft Certified: Information Protection Administrator Associate (SC-400) Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200) Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300) Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100) Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) (ISC)² CISSP or ISACA CISM ISO 27001 Lead Implementer / Auditor IAPP Certifications (CIPP/E, CIPM) Language Proficiency Certification (DELE, TOEFL, or equivalent) – preferred Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills in English and Spanish.
