  • Role Overview
  • We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead coding data annotation and validation workstreams that support the training and evaluation of Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • This role combines technical ownership, workflow execution, and people leadership. You will lead engineers and coding annotators while remaining actively involved in coding, system design, reviews, and quality enforcement.
  • Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end delivery of coding data generation and validation workstreams
  • Lead client-facing execution; manage requirements, expectations, and delivery outcomes
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (Delivery, PM, Research) to drive execution and quality
  • Architect and run automation, execution environments, and quality gates
  • Review code for correctness, clarity, robustness
  • Deliver SFT, RLHF, benchmarks, verifiers, and GYM systems (UI & non-UI)
  • Stay hands-on in Python; use JS/TS or other languages as needed
  • Identify and resolve quality, scale, or delivery risks via root-cause fixes
  • Lead engineers and annotators across defined workstreams
  • Enforce coding standards, review processes, and quality frameworks
  • Mentor team on code quality and debugging rigor
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and ramp-up
  • Collaborate with tooling and infra teams on execution pipelines
  • Communicate status, risks, and trade-offs clearly to clients and stakeholders

Requirements

  • 7+ years hands-on software engineering experience
  • Strong Python skills (JavaScript/TypeScript preferred; Java/C/C++ a plus)
  • Experience leading engineering/coding teams while staying hands-on
  • Ownership of code quality, reviews, and debugging
  • Experience with competitive programming, multi-language code analysis, or system-level debugging
  • Exposure to backend services, databases, automation workflows, or execution pipelines
  • Experience with React/Next.js or GYM (UI/non-UI) systems
  • Ability to architect and deliver end-to-end systems for coding annotation or LLM data workflows
  • AI-forward mindset; personal AI projects or GitHub contributions are a plus
