Position Summary As Executive Director, Regulatory Affairs – Pharmacy and Healthcare Legal, you will serve as a strategic leader driving enterprise-wide pharmacy advocacy and innovative pharmacy initiatives with Boards of Pharmacy. This role is accountable for shaping and influencing pharmacy practice regulations across multiple states, building trusted relationships with regulatory bodies, and ensuring alignment with organization priorities. You must demonstrate a deep understanding of the pharmacy business, manage competing priorities, excel at deductive reasoning, and work collaboratively across the enterprise to deliver best in class results. The Executive Director will provide forward-thinking guidance, anticipate regulatory trend, and deliver innovative solutions that enable business growth while maintain compliance. In partnership with your direct report, you will manage relationships with Boards of Pharmacy across 12-16 states, represent CVS Health at Board meetings and conferences, present strategic initiatives, support licensure applications, and address inquires. You will educate Boards on national and state legislative trends, propose rulemaking, request pilot approvals, and secure favorable interpretations or waivers to advance enterprise objectives. As a key advisor to senior leadership, you will demonstrate exceptional executive presence, influence decision-making at all levels, and lead a high-performing direct report to execute advocacy strategies across multiple jurisdictions. Success in this role requires a visionary approach, deep subject matter expertise, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes with agility and precision. Major Responsibilities SME for pharmacy, healthcare, and regulatory. Superior writing and communication skills, exceptional organizational skills, and strong attention to detail. Work collaboratively in a large, complex corporate structure and to work sensitively with confidential matters. Independent work style and ability to anticipate issues and create and implement methods for optimizing results and minimizing risks. Conduct analysis and provide guidance related to state regulations for new and developing business initiatives. Develop a deep understanding of the business and operational goals of assigned internal clients and work diligently to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients at all levels of the organization. Lead under pressure, adapt to changing dynamics in real time, and find solutions that satisfy multiple ‘customers’ of the business Work in a fast-paced environment to successfully manage many projects -- whether large or small, complex or simple -- simultaneously. Mentor and develop direct report(s), fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence in advocacy execution. Required Qualifications Pharmacy Degree: BS Pharm or PharmD 8+ years pharmacy and healthcare experience, including knowledge of and experience regulatory laws Experience advising on pharmacy, healthcare issues Proven track record of influencing others with and without authority Ability to think about the impact of decisions on the broader enterprise Consistently demonstrates strong executive presence Demonstrated business judgment and acumen Superior oral and written communication skills High level of interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple client areas Superior problem-solving skills. Located or willing to relocate to the East Coast Demonstrated track record of high performance Any additional tasks as required by manager or supervisor Currently licensed as a Registered Pharmacist Regular and reliable attendance Travel- Ability, and willingness, to travel regularly 40% of time Preferred Qualifications Juris Doctor Fellowship or Residency related to Pharmacy Regulatory Expertise providing regulatory research and analysis in the retail healthcare industry Expertise providing regulatory support for Board of Pharmacy review Experience working for a Fortune 5 company in professional practice, or a similar function for a retail pharmacy company Education Pharmacy Degree: BS Pharm or PharmD Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $131,500.00 - $303,195.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
