Looking for a full stack developer to become the main developer of a complex, single-page web application with more than 40,000 lines of legacy code. This is a self-directed role, because due to capacity constraints, the current developer cannot provide an introduction into the app and its code and structure, so you will have to get familiar with it by yourself through the documentation, primarily. Check the listed mandatory skills carefully and adress them in your application: - Experience of 5+ years in vue.js is required and must be demonstrated through concrete past projects - Experience with open-source workflows and GitHub as well as assistive technology must also be clearly evidenced. - Applications with general "I have experience with X" sentences without linking to specific projects/repositories will be disregarded, as will clearly AI-generated applications. - This is an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) app, so any experience with the target group of the app is a big plus. Again, please provide specific examples. - Interest in supporting me to promote the app (from tutorials to webinars to social media) is not a must but would be a big plus. Interest in the topic of AAC and disabilities is desirable. Around 97 million people in the world could benefit from Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), but according to the WHO and other organizations, access to digital AAC resources is very limited, especially in low-income countries. This project aims to provide a truly free, open-source solution. Becoming a developer for this app gives you the opportunity to make a direct and profound positive impact in the lives of people with no or limited spoken language.
