- About the Role
- We are seeking a hands-on, strategic Head of Finance to lead the evolution of our finance function during an exciting phase of rapid growth.
- This is not a maintenance role, it’s a unique opportunity to build and elevate. You’ll have the autonomy and executive support to design scalable systems, embrace emerging technologies, and position finance as a true strategic partner driving insight and decision-making.
- You’ll work closely with leadership to advance multi-entity reporting, strengthen system connectivity, and create a finance infrastructure that supports continued expansion and innovation.
- Key Responsibilities
- Operational Excellence & Financial Control
- Oversee day-to-day accounting and reporting for multiple entities (operating, service, and holding companies).
- Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial statements across entities and regions.
- Manage tax filings, compliance, and audit readiness in coordination with external partners.
- Oversee and continuously improve client invoicing and collections processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and consistent cash flow management across entities.
- Systems & Process Transformation
- Assess current tools and workflows; implement scalable systems and automation aligned with future technology trends.
- Optimize payroll, billing, expense management, and vendor payment processes for efficiency and growth.
- Collaborate with operations and IT to enhance connectivity and optimize financial data flows within practice management platforms.
- Strategic Partnership
- Deliver forward-looking financial analysis and insights to guide strategic planning.
- Support leadership with budgeting, forecasting, and performance dashboards.
- Manage banking relationships and capital planning activities.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and mentor a distributed finance team, fostering accountability and precision.
- Establish scalable processes and documentation to support continued firm growth.
- Qualifications & Experience
- 8+ years of progressive finance, accounting, or controllership experience; ideally in a multi-entity or professional services environment.
- Extensive experience in the United States.
- Expertise in cash and accrual accounting, GAAP reporting, and multi-entity consolidation.
- Proven success implementing new finance or ERP tools and leveraging technology to drive efficiency and innovation.
- Strong background in audits, compliance, and external financial communications.
- Strategic mindset with readiness to stay hands-on during growth phases.
- Exceptional communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
