- Position Overview
- We are looking for a talented and driven IP Networks Team Lead to join our Technology Department.
- We are open to hiring this role in São Paulo, Brazil.
- As the IP Networks Team Lead, you will be responsible for designing, operating, and evolving our global IP backbone and data center networks, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and highly available. This role blends technical leadership and hands-on engineering, guiding the team in building and maintaining next-generation network infrastructure across our on-prem and cloud environments.
- You will act as both a technical authority and people leader, responsible for defining network architecture standards, enforcing best practices, and managing priorities across multiple initiatives.
- Your mission is to deliver a world-class network foundation supporting global mobile, cloud, and connectivity services.

- Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of network engineers, managing performance, priorities, and technical direction.
- Design, implement, and maintain LAN, WAN, data center, and backbone network infrastructure.
- Architect and operate high-availability global IP networks interconnecting data centers and cloud regions.
- Ensure network redundancy and resilience testing across service, infrastructure, and transport layers.
- Plan and oversee SDN and SD-WAN to enable automation and dynamic traffic engineering.
- Deploy and manage routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Implement and maintain IPv6, QoS, and traffic-engineering policies to guarantee consistent network performance.
- Monitor network health, performance, and capacity, ensuring high availability, low latency, and reliability.
- Investigate complex network incidents, lead root-cause analysis, and ensure follow-up actions are implemented.
- Ensure network security and compliance with internal policies and industry standards (ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, CIS).
- Automate network provisioning, configuration, and monitoring using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Continuously improve observability and visibility using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and SNMP-based systems.
- Support migrations, upgrades, and expansions while minimizing downtime and risk.
- Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, topology diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Generate regular network performance and incident reports with actionable recommendations.
- Experience: 10+ years as an IP/Networking Engineer, with expertise in designing, deploying, and managing high-availability, scalable intercontinental networks (including at least 2+ years in a leadership role).
- Mobile IP Networks & Backhaul: Extensive experience designing and managing IP-based mobile backhaul networks for 4G/5G, ensuring seamless delivery of traffic, data, and voice services.
- SD-WAN & SDN: Proven expertise with SD-WAN and SDN technologies like Cisco ACI or NDFC, enabling network automation and optimization of global IP backbones.
- IPv6 & QoS: Strong experience with IPv6 deployment and QoS configuration to optimize bandwidth and ensure high-performance, reliable connectivity.
- Data Center & Backbone Design: Skilled in designing and managing global IP backbones and interconnected data centers for high-performance, low-latency connections.
- Advanced Network Protocols: Expert-level knowledge in TCP/IP stack, including TCP, UDP, ICMP, SMTP, SNMP, LDAP, DNS, NTP, and other essential protocols. Proficient in dynamic routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
- Network Security & Compliance: Expertise in IPSec VPNs, security hardening, and compliance frameworks (PCI-DSS, ISO27001, CIS).
- Layer 2 & Layer 3 Management: Hands-on experience managing Layer 2 (STP, MSTP) and Layer 3 multiservice networks with MPLS and traffic engineering.
- Network Automation & IaC: Proficient in Terraform, Ansible, and other tools to automate network provisioning and streamline deployments.
- Network Monitoring & Observability: Expertise in tools like Prometheus, Grafana, SNMP, and Wireshark for network monitoring and performance optimization.
- High-Performance Networking: Proven ability to design and optimize solutions for WAN optimization, traffic engineering, and latency reduction.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Strong leadership skills in mentoring engineers, driving network strategy, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Nice to Have
- Knowledge of Python for network automation, data collection, or tooling development.
- Hands-on experience with redundancy validation, chaos testing, or network failover simulation.
- Familiarity with multi-cloud networking and hybrid-connectivity architectures.
- Experience integrating network telemetry into performance and reliability dashboards.
- Experience collaborating with global carriers, IXPs, and data center providers.
