  • Intern Legal
  • Ebury São Paulo Office - Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home per week
  • The Legal Department is core to the functioning of Ebury. It provides front-line advice to all parts of the business on legal, regulatory and governance matters which contribute to our growth every day. We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Legal Intern for Ebury Bank in Brazil. This position will report to Brazil’s Legal Manager.
  • What you’ll do

Assist the Brazilian legal team as they provide legal and regulatory guidance on

  • Day-to-day advisory on the legal and regulatory implications of cross-border banking products and services;
  • Assistance with presentations/pleas/contacts with regulatory authorities;
  • General analyses of financial and payments laws and regulations.

Assist the Brazilian legal team in corporate governance

  • Supporting corporate governance;
  • Advisory on corporate restructuring and transactions;
  • General analyses of Brazil's corporate law.

Assist the Brazilian legal team in contracts

  • Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts (financial and corporate);
  • Advisory on contract interpretation and dispute resolution;
  • Assisting in achieving the objectives of the Legal Department.
  • What you’ll need
  • Fluent in English;
  • Enrolled in Law school at 3rd year or above;
  • A proactive mindset and an ability to communicate effectively in practical terms with stakeholders at all levels of the Ebury Group;
  • Effective problem-solver capable of navigating complex regulations to drive business success while managing risk;
  • Ability in a fast paced environment to prioritise and manage a wide range of competing priorities (with support from other team members and external counsel where necessary);
  • Prior experience in banking law would be an advantage but not essential.
