  • About the role
  • Operational Logistics Leader is responsible for managing and coordinating end-to-end operational logistics activities across the South Latin America region (Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Brazil) ensuring product availability, regulatory compliance, and service excellence. This role ensures the efficient and compliant flow of products from global plants or suppliers to local 3PLs and customers, covering importation tracking, nationalization, inventory transfers, distribution planning, and transportation management, while also support the supply of Convatec clinics including internal logistics and last-mile delivery to the final customer/patients. The position plays a key role in ensuring service level excellence, cost efficiency, and adherence to Convatec standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage importation processes for all South Latin America markets, including shipment tracking, customs clearance, and documentation control.
  • Oversee nationalization processes ensuring regulatory compliance, correct product labeling, and timely availability of goods.
  • Coordinate inventory transfers from global plants or regional distribution centers to local 3PLs.
  • Supervise and monitor 3PL partners, ensuring adherence to KPIs related to receiving, storage, labeling, and order fulfillment.
  • Manage and evaluate contracts with logistics providers, including 3PLs and transportation companies, ensuring service level compliance and cost optimization.
  • Coordinate regional distribution activities aligned with business requirements, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to customers and trade markets.
  • Optimizing distribution processes, including warehouse operations, transportation routes, and inventory management.
  • Develop and maintain transportation management processes, including carrier performance evaluation, route optimization, and claims management.
  • Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs to ensure all import and nationalization activities comply with local market requirements.
  • Control inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation activities at 3PL facilities.
  • Prepare operational performance reports and analyze KPIs to identify improvement opportunities in logistics and distribution processes.
  • Support strategic supply chain projects and continuous improvement initiatives related to logistics operations in South Latin America.
  • Manage the material flow between 3PLs and Convatec clinics, ensuring proper stock levels and timely replenishment.
  • Support internal logistics operations within clinics (storage, handling, and consumption of materials).
  • Support the distribution strategies of products from clinics to final customers, ensuring service quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with clinical operations and nursing teams to anticipate supply needs and maintain operational continuity.

Authority (if applicable)

  • Negotiating appropriate metrics to track, determining the format of reports, and deciding on the frequency of reporting.
  • Adopt global & regional tools to inform decision-makers about distribution performance, analyzing distribution data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Identifying improvements to distribution processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Skills & Experience

  • Analysis and problem solving skills
  • Experience in import/export operations and customs regulations.
  • Knowledge of logistics processes, warehouse management, and transportation planning.
  • Ability to manage third-party logistics providers and transport companies.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills. Work very closed to Customer Service and Demand Planning Team.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and logistics reporting tools.
  • Ability to translate numbers and data into reliable insight
  • Attention to detail
  • Risk management and elaboration of mitigation plan.
  • Leadership skills & team work.
  • Ability to influence decisions by working across different organizational functions beyond the supply chain.

Qualifications/Education

  • Professional in administrative or engineering careers.
  • Specialization in logistics and / or foreign trade (desirable).
  • Previous experience in supply chain operations, preferably in healthcare, med tech, or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Proven experience with import/export operations, 3PL management, and internal logistics.
  • Advanced Excel and ERP systems experience (SAP preferred).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced English.
