The Role We're seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Marketing Virtual Assistant to work directly with our Sales and Marketing Manager for a long-term position. This is an exciting opportunity to work behind the scenes of a purpose-driven publishing and events company, helping to keep projects on track and marketing systems running smoothly. You'll be trained and supported in all aspects of the role, with opportunities to grow your skills in Facebook ads scheduling and other marketing areas. Position Type: Part-time contract position (10-20 hours per week) Rate: $14/hour (including upwork fee) Location: Remote (Americas time zones strongly preferred - US/Canada/Latin America) Start Date: Immediately Contract Type: Long-term for the right candidate Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management & Organization Manage and organize projects in Asana Keep the team on track with weekly project updates and deadlines Add tasks and action items to Asana proactively Maintain organized workflows and systems Email Marketing & Automation Schedule and manage email campaigns Set up automations in FluentCRM Manage inbox and respond to routine inquiries Organize email communications Social Media & Advertising Schedule social media posts across platforms Set up and schedule Facebook ad campaigns Monitor and manage social media presence Marketing Automation Create and manage ManyChat automations for social media and messaging Set up automated workflows to streamline marketing processes Website & Technical Support Perform WordPress updates (plugins, themes, backups) Basic website management and maintenance Work with Elementor page builder Content Creation (As skills develop) Graphic design and content creation using Canva or similar tools Creative input on marketing campaigns What We're Looking ForREQUIRED SKILLS (Must have from day 1) Core Competencies: Exceptional organizational skills - You thrive on keeping things tidy, on schedule, and running smoothly Project management tool proficiency - Strong experience with Asana or similar platforms (Trello, Monday, ClickUp, etc.) Social media scheduling experience - You've managed content calendars and scheduled posts across multiple platforms Email management experience - You're comfortable managing inboxes, organizing communications, and handling routine correspondence Tech-savvy - You're comfortable learning new software and platforms quickly Reliable communication - You're responsive, proactive, and clear in your updates via Slack and video calls Personal Qualities: Eager to learn - You love picking up new tools and skills and see this as a growth opportunity Highly organized - Systems and structure are your happy place Detail-oriented - Nothing slips through the cracks on your watch Proactive - You spot what needs to be done and take initiative Intermediate experience level - You've done marketing support work before and can work independently NICE TO HAVE (Or opportunity to learn with our training & support) We'll provide training and support to help you develop these skills: FluentCRM - Email marketing automation platform (full training provided) ManyChat - Social media and messenger automation (full training provided) Facebook Ads Manager - Ad scheduling and campaign setup (full training provided) WordPress & Elementor - Website management and page building Graphic design - Canva or similar design tools for creating marketing materials Book publishing or events industry familiarity Growth & Development Opportunities This role offers a genuine opportunity to expand your marketing skill set, including: Mastering email marketing automation and workflows Learning Facebook ads management from setup to scheduling Developing chatbot and automation expertise with ManyChat Growing your WordPress and website management capabilities Working With Us Direct support: You'll work closely with the Sales and Marketing Manager, with training and guidance provided Communication: Regular check-ins via Slack and Zoom/Google Meets Flexibility: Work hours that suit you within America's time zones Purpose-driven: Meaningful work supporting authors and teachers who are making a difference in people's lives Applicants should include a brief cover letter or note specific to this position.
