  • Reporting directly to the General Manager for Central America, Caribbean and Ecuador, the Poultry Business Unit Manager will lead a very successful team and ensure that we are going to be leader in the region. The growing complexity of the animal health industry environment requires an evolution on the way we approach the market to ensure our company is perceived as differential on the way we create shared value with our key stakeholders. This position requires a deep understanding of the poultry industry, including production, supply chain, marketing, sales, financial management and an outstanding team leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic goals and objectives for the poultry business unit, aligning them with the overall business strategy. Evaluate market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities in Central America, Caribbean and Ecuador.
  • Financial Management: Manage the financial performance of the poultry business unit, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and profitability analysis. Monitor key financial metrics and implement strategies to optimize financial outcomes.
  • Operations Management: Oversee all aspects of poultry production and operations, ensuring efficient and cost-effective processes. Collaborate with production and quality teams to maintain high standards of product quality and safety.
  • Sales and Marketing: Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue growth for poultry products. Analyze market data, consumer insights, and competitor activities to identify market trends and opportunities. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
  • Supply Chain Management: Collaborate with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal teams to ensure efficient operations. Optimize the supply chain to ensure timely delivery, minimize costs, and reduce inventory levels.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the poultry business unit team. Build a high-performing team, foster a culture of collaboration and innovation, and develop team through coaching and mentoring.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, food safety standards, and industry best practices. Keep abreast of changes in regulations and implement necessary measures to maintain regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Business, Agriculture, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in the poultry industry, with a track record of progressive leadership roles.
  • Strong business acumen, with a deep understanding of the poultry market dynamics, trends, and challenges.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, financial management, and operations optimization.
  • Effective leadership and team management skills, motivate and inspire teams.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards in the poultry sector.
  • Willing to travel at least 40% of the time
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English languages, in oral and written.
