• As a Principal Backend Engineer, you will lead backend development initiatives, driving the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust web applications. You will play a pivotal role in architecting scalable, high-performance systems and modernizing legacy codebases. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure technical excellence, enforce best practices, and mentor junior developers. • Accountabilities
• Lead the backend engineering team in designing, developing, and maintaining web applications using .NET and PHP.
• Architect and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance systems.
• Oversee migration of legacy PHP applications to modern .NET-based solutions.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure quality deliverables.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, designers, and project managers to deliver cohesive solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers, promoting continuous learning and development within the team.
• Provide accurate estimates and progress updates for feature development and system enhancements.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in .NET development.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing project deliverables.
• Strong expertise in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and backend architecture.
• Experience building and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across distributed teams.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Advantageous: Experience with TypeScript, React.js, Vue.js, Java, Scala, Kotlin, Python, legacy system modernization, and web security/performance optimization.
• Competitive contractor compensation: USD $5,500–$6,000/month, depending on experience.
