  • The Quality Engineer, Product QA will report solid line to the Regional Quality Manager and will be responsible for ensuring effective application of the Baker Hughes Quality Management System (QMS) and customer requirements for the relevant scope of work handled internally (in-house) or externally (suppliers). The successful candidate will be responsible for auditing technical requirements, and implementing controls for its adherence, and exercising problem solving, quality reporting and improvement in a daily basis, and as a result ensuring a role model in regards to continuous improvement for components fabrication, top assembly unitization and product validation processes.

The Quality Engineer, Product QA will be responsible for

  • Ensure product quality performance is reviewed and improved in a frequent matter at execution sites.
  • Collaborate with Lean initiatives towards processes improvements to ensure the flawless execution.
  • Lead first article process in suppliers and in-house, making sure the product process is well established aligned with product requirements, through of using risk assessment tools such as but not limited to FMEA.
  • Run product quality audits and walks in a frequent basis to certify product requirements are properly met.
  • Act as a risk assessor for product manufacturing and any risks of execution are properly identified and mitigated.
  • Support and/or lead Go No Go process for fabrication start and facilitate pre-production meeting.
  • Ensure operations Lessons Learned are properly captured, solved and communicated to Supply Chain and Product Delivery Team.
  • Act as a quality agent for culture development promoting workshops for continuous improvement.
  • FMEA
  • Ensure product non-conformances are properly identified, technically reviewed to promote strategic actions for continuous improvement.
  • Implement and control product Key Performance Indicators.
  • Handle communication with direct colleagues and the business about approach and methods for solving complex problems
  • Adhere to Product Line directive for standard quality requirements in fabrication sites
  • Witness product inspections and processes/product qualification inspections.
  • Ensure critical observations are registered and concerns are properly identified and escalated to the respective levels of the organization.
  • Lead manufacturing review processes for all new first article involving the relevant stakeholders.
  • Be an agent for implementing Non-Conformance Management process at extended sites.
  • Required Characteristics
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in (Mechanical or Production Engineering).
  • Fluent English skills.
  • Knowledge in local Brazilian customer quality requirements related to fabrication of subsea equipment including XT, Manifolds and Tooling.
  • Previous experience in Quality Control for subsea equipment fabrication.
  • Experience in Quality and product requirement audits.
  • Knowledge in product quality inspection and documentation analysis.
  • Experience in quality tools for developing improvement actions (A3, 8D, 5whys, fishbone, FMEA, 5S, Lean Six-Sigma).

  • Desired Characteristics
  • Master Degree in Quality discipline.
  • Technical product qualification by external parties as (Dimensional, Painting, Welding or NDT, Fabrication).
