- Perioperative 101 Overview
- This fast-paced Boise Operating Room (OR) invites you to join us in grey scrubs and develop your nursing skills through our fulltime 6-month periop 101 internship program. You will be training with an OR team made up of interdisciplinary professionals that share a passion for surgery. As you delve into our world of bovies, instrument counts, scopes, steris beds, robots, sterility, intubation and so much more, you will find it is truly a privilege to be the patient advocate on their journey through the surgical experience.
The Boise OR has 4 Specialty Service Line Teams
- General/Pediatric (Trauma); St. Luke’s is the pediatric trauma center for the state of Idaho
- Robotics/Oscopy: Three robots making St. Luke’s one of the largest robotic programs in the Northwest
- Orthopedics: Specializing in robotic joint surgery, pediatric orthopedic procedures, sports medicine, and orthopedic trauma
- Neurology: Neurosurgery with BrainLab and Stealth technologies, craniotomies, subdural hematomas, aneurysms, and fusions of the cervical and lumbar spine
- Schedule: 1.0 FTE Full time 5 (8) hour shifts Monday-Friday. Call is required after the 6-month Periop training period. Call response time is 30 minutes.
What to expect
- The Boise OR is St Lukes Health System’s largest operating room and the Treasure Valley’s pediatric trauma center. With 17 operating rooms we serve all specialties except for CVOR and L&D, with more than 200 surgeons across four specialty teams – General, Neuro, Ortho, and Oscopy, including robots – and patient populations ranging from newborn to geriatric. We also have protocols in place to help us provide surgery safely to patient’s testing COVID positive. Staff work all kinds of shifts to cover the local populations surgical needs with an innovative call team for most nights and weekends.
Job Description Qualifications
- Education: Nursing Degree (ADN or BSN)
- Experience: 1+ years RN experience required -
- Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice
- BLS is required- ALCS highly preferred
