Job Description: We’re a fast-paced U.S.-based stone countertop fabrication company seeking a remote CAD/Layout technician to support our lead designer and help manage an increasing volume of layout work. This is not a junior position — while the work itself is straightforward, mistakes are expensive. We're looking for someone highly detail-oriented, dependable, and fluent in English who can own this function with minimal hand-holding. What You'll Be Doing: Receiving DXF, PDF, and field photos from our team and translating them into polished slab layouts Placing seams, bookmatches, and cuts using our layout software (you will be provided access) Following our internal standards for naming, versioning, and approvals Communicating clearly with our team if something looks off or needs clarification Managing your own deadlines with precision and follow-through What We're Looking For: 2–5 years of CAD drafting experience (stone, tile, cabinetry, or architectural millwork preferred) Fluent English, written and spoken – you’ll communicate directly with our U.S. team Must be available to work during Eastern U.S. business hours (Monday–Friday) High attention to detail – you double-check your work before submitting Strong organizational habits and file management discipline Experience using AutoCAD, Slabsmith, or similar layout tools a plus Bonus if you've supported U.S.-based fabrication or construction teams before Who You Are: You care about doing things right the first time You’re proactive — if something doesn’t look right, you speak up You thrive in a clear system and enjoy having responsibility You’re polished, reliable, and committed to building long-term relationships Job Details: Hourly Rate: $6–$10 USD/hour Starts as a part-time hourly contract with strong potential to grow into a full-time, long-term role You will be provided access to our licensed layout software — no need to bring your own To Apply: Please include the following: A short voice introduction (1–2 mins) so we can hear your spoken English Examples of previous CAD/layout work, especially if related to fabrication or construction Your current weekly availability and time zone A brief paragraph about how you stay organized and double-check your work
