• Job Summary
• We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Salesforce DevOps Engineer. This is a greenfield opportunity to build a mature, secure, and efficient DevSecOps practice from the ground up. The ideal candidate is not just a tool expert but a strategic advisor who can guide the client's team, establish best practices, and implement a scalable release management framework. You will be the go-to expert for all things related to Salesforce DevOps, empowering the client to increase their release velocity and improve the quality and security of their Salesforce implementation.
• Responsibilities and Duties
• Serve as the primary technical lead and subject matter expert for Salesforce DevOps. Design, implement, and document a comprehensive, source-driven development lifecycle and release management process using Gearset;
• Build, manage, and optimize automated CI/CD pipelines within Gearset to handle the promotion of metadata and data changes across sandbox environments and into production;
• Leverage the full capabilities of the Gearset platform, including the "Compare & Deploy" engine, automated testing, static code analysis (SCA), data backup and restore, and sandbox seeding with data masking;
• Establish and enforce Git-based version control best practices. Define and implement a branching strategy that is suitable for a mixed-skill team of administrators and developers;
• Integrate security into every stage of the development lifecycle ("shift left"). Implement automated code scanning, enforce quality gates, and configure data masking to ensure compliance and protect sensitive data;
• Act as a mentor and guide for the client's internal team. Provide hands-on training and support to upskill their administrators and developers on DevOps principles and the effective use of Gearset;
• Implement change monitoring to track all modifications within the Salesforce orgs. Define and track key DevOps KPIs, such as release velocity, change failure rate, and lead time, to measure success and identify areas for improvement;
• Act as the primary point of contact for release-related issues. Troubleshoot and resolve deployment errors, leveraging Gearset's diagnostic tools to ensure smooth and reliable releases.
• Essential Skills
• Experience in Salesforce DevOps or Release Management role;
• Expert-level, hands-on proficiency with the Gearset platform, with demonstrable experience setting up CI/CD pipelines, data deployments, and backup/restore strategies from scratch;
• Deep understanding of source-driven development, Salesforce DX, and the Salesforce metadata API;
• Strong command of Git, including common branching and merging strategies (e.g., Git Flow, Trunk-Based Development);
• Experience implementing DevSecOps practices, including static code analysis, vulnerability scanning, and data masking for compliance;
• Must be fluent in English (written and verbal).
• Highly Desirable Skills
• Gearset certifications (e.g., via DevOps Launchpad);
• Salesforce certifications (e.g., Platform Developer I/II, Administrator, Development Lifecycle and Deployment Architect);
• Experience working in a client-facing or consulting capacity;
• Familiarity with other Salesforce DevOps tools (e.g., Copado, Flosum) for comparative knowledge;
• Proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is a strong plus;
• Experience with automated testing frameworks for Salesforce (e.g., Selenium, Provar).
