- We are looking for: Senior Connectivity Business Analyst – Payments
- About the Role
- This role offers a unique opportunity to bridge business analysis and technical connectivity leadership within the payments and cash management domain. As a Connectivity Business Analyst, you will lead the design and validation of end-to-end payment flows, focusing not only on functional process analysis but also on secure bank connectivity, data exchange protocols, and infrastructure readiness across global banking environments. You will act as the primary interface between business stakeholders, IT architecture, cybersecurity, and external partners, ensuring that all payment channels — from API to sFTP — meet the functional, technical, and compliance standards of a global financial institution.
Main Responsibilities
- - Lead functional and technical analysis for payment integration projects involving Tier-1 banks and corporate clients, ensuring seamless and secure connectivity.
- - Define and validate connectivity and communication models (H2H, API, EBICS, sFTP, SWIFTNet, host-to-host file transfer) in alignment with internal security and infrastructure policies.
- - Collaborate with network, firewall, and security teams to define port requirements, IP whitelisting, certificates, and PGP key management for secure file exchange.
- - Oversee onboarding and connectivity testing (firewall validations, PGP encryption/decryption tests, sFTP setup, payload exchange, and signature validation).
- - Document and maintain connectivity specifications, including message formats, encryption methods, routing configurations, and partner access models.
- - Act as the functional owner for integration flows between payment systems, ERP/TMS, and external counterparties using ISO 20022 (pain.001, pain.002, pacs.008, etc.), MT101, and API-based interfaces.
- - Work closely with IT Security and Infrastructure to ensure resilience, monitoring, and failover mechanisms are embedded in connectivity designs.
- - Manage change control for connectivity upgrades (e.g., sFTP endpoint rotation, firewall migration, PGP key renewals).
- - Support incident investigation and root cause analysis for connectivity or message delivery failures.
- - Drive the use of AI-assisted tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, JIRA Rovo) to enhance documentation, testing scripts, and operational handovers.
- - Lead stakeholder workshops with technology, compliance, and operations teams to align on connectivity standards and service levels.
- - Mentor analysts and engineers on connectivity design principles, emphasizing compliance, traceability, and operational resilience.
Requirements
Mandatory
- - 7+ years of experience in financial services, with at least 3 years in connectivity or payments infrastructure projects (e.g., H2H, sFTP, SWIFTNet).
- - Proven understanding of firewall and network concepts (ports, IP routing, VPN tunnels, TLS, certificates).
- - Hands-on experience configuring and validating PGP encryption, sFTP transfers, and connectivity certificates (X.509)
- - Expertise in ISO 20022 and MT message formats, payment channels, and corporate-to-bank integration models.
- - Familiarity with bank communication servers and secure file gateways (Sterling Integrator, IBM MQ).
- - Strong understanding of cybersecurity and operational risk controls within connectivity environments.
- - Excellent analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
- - Experience in Agile environments (JIRA, Confluence) and ability to document both functional and technical requirements clearly.
- - Proficiency in English and Spanish (tested).
- - Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools for documentation, data validation, and quality assurance.
- We offer
- Opportunity for growth in an innovative company in educational technology.
- Hybrid work model: 2 days at the office and 3 days from home.
- Location: Madrid, Tres Cantos
- Continuous training and professional development.
- Collaborative and dynamic work environment
