  • As Senior Counsel, LATAM, you will primarily help to advise on existing and emerging laws and requirements in the region. You will guide cross-functional stakeholders on the impact of regional laws on Roblox’s product and operations. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and remotely from Headquarters, and collaboratively with all company partners.
  • This role will be based in Brazil, reporting to the Head of Americas, Regulatory & International Legal and work remotely in San Paolo, Brazil.

You will

  • Advise on existing, pending, and developing regulations affecting Roblox, including regulations concerning online UGC platforms, AI, and consumer protection in LATAM.
  • Identify new regulatory trends and educate company leadership on their implications.
  • Help create a cross-functional response to legal obligations.
  • Develop and implement procedures, policies and programs to ensure Roblox compliance with applicable laws and regulations in LATAM.
  • Analyze complex legal issues and translate analysis into practical advice.
  • Evaluate, engage, and oversee outside counsel in LATAM.
  • Liaise and develop strong relationships with relevant regulators in LATAM.
  • Provide legal advice and support in relation to local regulatory issues.
  • Respond to requests for compliance advice from engineering, product and marketing teams concerning communications and product releases.

You have

  • 10+ years of post-qualification relevant legal experience;
  • Experience working with or for a company in the social media, media, or gaming space on a wide range of issues, including internet laws, UGC, product policy, corporate and regulatory matters;
  • Experience engaging with relevant regulators (e.g., media, telecommunications, online safety);
  • Strong critical judgment and analytical skills with the ability to propose solutions and translate your legal analysis into practical advice, taking into account the needs and objectives of the business;
  • Licensed to practice law in Brazil, at minimum;
  • Deep understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in Portuguese, Spanish, and English.
  • The ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment;
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills;
  • The ability to handle a diverse and complex workload; and
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a small, tightly-knit team.
  • Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
