About the RoleWe are seeking a Senior Database Reliability Engineer (DBRE / DBA) with deep expertise in MariaDB/MySQL and a solid understanding of PostgreSQL.Your mission will be to ensure our databases are reliable, performant, and resilient — especially when it comes to replication troubleshooting and tackling complex performance challenges.In addition to being our database specialist, you’ll have the opportunity to grow into a DevOps role. If you don’t yet have strong DevOps experience, that’s perfectly fine — we’ll provide hands-on training, mentoring, and support. Over time, you’ll contribute to infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and cloud operations alongside our DevOps engineers.Responsibilities and AttributionsResponsibilitiesDiagnose and resolve complex database issues, including replication failures and performance bottlenecks.Optimize queries, indexes, and schema designs for reliability and scalability.Ensure robust backup, recovery, and security strategies are in place.Collaborate with developers to improve database usage patterns and performance.Manage and monitor databases in cloud environments (Azure, AWS).Gradually take on DevOps responsibilities, including:Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)CI/CD pipelines and automationCloud resource provisioning and maintenanceRequisites and QualificationsRequirementsSenior-level expertise with MariaDB/MySQL (administration, performance tuning, replication).Experience troubleshooting replication, diagnosing query performance, and optimizing configurations.Solid understanding of database design, indexing, and scaling strategies.Hands-on experience managing production environments with high reliability requirements.Familiarity with Azure and/or AWS.English level B1 or higher (comfortable collaborating in an international team).Addtional InformationsNice to HaveWorking knowledge of PostgreSQL (operations, tuning, replication).Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible).Scripting ability (Bash, Python).Previous DevOps or SRE experience.What We OfferBecome the go-to database expert in our team.A clear growth path into DevOps, with dedicated mentoring and training.A dynamic role where you may spend 50% or more of your time in DevOps as you grow.International environment with modern tooling and automation practices.Competitive compensation and flexibility.
