About the role We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Tax Analyst specializing in Indirect Taxes to join our Brazil tax team. This position plays a critical hands-on role in ensuring compliance with Brazil’s complex federal, state, and municipal tax system, including ICMS, IPI, ISS, PIS, COFINS, and the upcoming CBS/IBS under the 2026 tax reform. The analyst will support day-to-day compliance, reconciliation, audits, and continuous process improvements, while also contributing to tax technology projects and cross-functional initiatives. What will you be doing? Compliance & Reporting Prepare, review, and file SPED obligations (EFD-ICMS/IPI, EFD-Contribuições, DCTF, GIA, municipal ISS returns). Ensure proper issuance, validation, and storage of electronic invoices (NF-e, NFS-e, CT-e). Monitor correct application of CST/CFOP codes, NCM classification, and fiscal rules in ERP. Perform reconciliations between accounting records, SPED data, and tax returns. Tax Determination & Credits Calculate and validate ICMS, ICMS-ST, IPI, ISS, PIS/COFINS on purchases and sales. Manage PIS/COFINS non-cumulative credits and ICMS/IPI credit recovery. Support transaction mapping for correct tax coding and exemptions. Audits & Controversy Prepare supporting documentation for tax audits and inspections by Receita Federal, SEFAZ, and municipalities. Respond to information requests, providing NF-e XMLs, ledgers, and reconciliations. Assist in drafting responses to intimações and autos de infração. Projects & Tax Reform Readiness Support ERP and tax engine configurations for CBS/IBS implementation. Participate in testing scenarios for system updates and tax reform compliance. Identify opportunities to improve automation and reporting efficiency. Cross-Functional Support Partner with finance, logistics, and commercial teams to advise on indirect tax impacts of transactions. Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on indirect tax rules and changes. What will you need to be successful? Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. 3–5 years of experience in Brazilian indirect taxes (ICMS, IPI, ISS, PIS/COFINS). Strong knowledge of SPED reporting obligations and electronic invoicing. Experience with ERP systems (TOTVS) and tax automation tools. Familiarity with upcoming tax reform (CBS/IBS) preferred. Analytical skills with strong attention to detail and ability to manage tight deadlines. Fluency in Portuguese required; English proficiency desirable for multinational environments.
