- The project objective is to contribute to the national processes of strengthening family farmers in Brazil for poverty reduction and rural revitalization. The outcome is to implement differentiated policies and programs that improve the capacities of the national government, local and family farmers in areas such as ATER (rural extension and technical advisory services), Credit Programs, land access and governance, access to markets and the strengthening of cooperativism.
- Reporting Lines
- The incumbent reports to the Assistant Representative in FAO Brazil – Programme.
- Technical Focus
- Strengthen social participation in the process of formulating, implementing, and evaluating the national public policy for mediation and conciliation of agrarian conflicts, ensuring the permanent and qualified participation of civil society representatives in the CONDRAF Committee for Building Peace in the Countryside, Waters, and Forests
- Tasks and Responsibilities
- 1. Develop bibliographic research and data and information surveys on the theme of social participation in the formulation of public policies;
- 2. Prepare reports and data sheets, in a format to be specified, relevant to the activities of this assignment,
- 3. Define, in support with the supervisor, which civil society organizations should be selected as participants in the construction of the data that will be produced during the assignment;
- 4. Present the partial and final results of the products to the supervisor and/or substitute supervisor, upon demand of DEMCA/MDA and provide the requested information and clarifications;
- 5. Provide the MDA with information and parameters regarding the topic pertinent to this assignment;
- 6. Prepare the Work Plan and the Products as established in the Term of Reference.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
- Minimum Requirements
- • University degree in any area of knowledge, with a doctorate in the area of human sciences, applied social sciences or agricultural sciences, according to the CAPES table of areas of knowledge.
- • Minimum experience of 5 years working with the family farming public
- • Working knowledge of English and Portuguese;
- • National of Brazil or resident of the country with valid work permit
