- Red Hat ROSA Service Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to join the team to deliver fully managed Kubernetes solutions on AWS in Brazil. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and support production-ready features and enhancements for managed OpenShift platforms. You'll collaborate with architects, product managers, and site reliability engineers to solve complex distributed systems challenges. As part of our team, you'll contribute to both Red Hat products and the broader open source community, while working with cutting-edge technologies including Kubernetes, OpenShift, and AI-assisted development tools. What you will do: Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, high-quality software components for ROSA. Collaborate with architects, product managers, and engineers to define requirements, acceptance criteria, and test strategies. Design and implement test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and quality-first development practices. Conduct code reviews and leverage AI assistance to provide real-time feedback, identify potential bugs, security vulnerabilities, maintainability issues, and adherence to coding standards, contributing to a more thorough and efficient review process.. Develop automated tests (unit, integration, performance) to ensure continuous product reliability. Use metrics and monitoring tools to identify and resolve defects and performance bottlenecks. Contribute to technical roadmaps and champion best practices in software craftsmanship and quality engineering Proactively utilize AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) Employ AI-driven testing frameworks Explore and integrate emerging AI technologies to improve workflows, efficiency, and solution quality. What you will bring: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. 2+ years of professional experience with Linux environments and Kubernetes/OpenShift. Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Golang, Python, C/C++). Experience with microservices, APIs, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift), and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Tekton, Argo CD, GitHub Actions). Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS Preferred). Knowledge of testing frameworks and automation (unit, integration, end-to-end). Experience with troubleshooting and root cause analysis in distributed systems. Familiarity with Agile methodology (Scrum/Kanban) and TDD/BDD practices. Awareness and practical application of AI/ML tools for development efficiency and workflow improvement. Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing LLMs (e.g., Google Gemini) Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Detail-oriented and passionate about quality and automation. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Nice to Have: Open source development experience. Industry experience with ROSA or other Kubernetes distributions. Experience with AI-assisted tools and frameworks.
