- The project objective is to contribute to the national processes of strengthening family farmers in Brazil for poverty reduction and rural revitalization. The outcome is to implement differentiated policies and programs that improve the capacities of the national government, local and family farmers in areas such as ATER (rural extension and technical advisory services), Credit Programs, land access and governance, access to markets and the strengthening of cooperativism.
- Reporting Lines
- The incumbent reports to the Assistant Representative in FAO Brazil – Programme.
- Technical Focus
- The incumbent will systematize and analyze current normative and legislative instruments that impact the execution of the Coopera Mais Brasil and Alimentos no Prato programs, consolidating innovative proposals to overcome the challenges of their implementation.
- Tasks and Responsibilities
- • Prepare a work plan;
- • Locate, consult the legislation and present a spreadsheet with the federal standards that impact the programs described in the products and assign, if possible, gradations of impacts (little, a lot or reasonable impact)
- • Assist in alignment meetings with the team of the Secretariat of Supply, Cooperativism and Food Sovereignty (SEAB/MDA) for the preparation of products;
- • Contribute to the construction of innovative solutions to the main demands of civil society related to the theme of cooperativism, solidarity economy and food supply;
- • Prepare technical and analytical documents about the proposals for the creation and amendment of regulations related to the Solidarity Economy, cooperativism and food supply that impact Family Farming, to subsidize SEAB/MDA, when requested.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
- Minimum Requirements
- • University degree in applied social sciences according to the CAPES/CNPq table of areas of knowledge
- • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in programs, projects or policies for Family Farming, focused on Food Supply, cooperativism and/or Solidarity Economy
- • Working knowledge of English and Portuguese
- • National of Brazil or resident of the country with valid work permit
