- Housecall Pro is a fintech company founded in 2013. We built a SaaS platform that helps Home Service Professionals operate their businesses. We created the application for plumbers, electricians, and other Pros in the home improvement/trades industries.
- Housecall Pro is a simple, cloud-based field service management software platform aimed at helping companies keep track of jobs, monitor technician activity, and produce invoices easily.

- As a Staff DevOps Engineer, you are experienced in working closely with developers to safely deploy changes in a production environment. You have the skills to plan, communicate, monitor, and deliver large and small projects. You strive to ensure that every edge-case is considered and you have the ability to architect changes with safe revert strategies. You feel comfortable joining developers on calls, providing guidance, and coaching best practices. You are curious, motivated, and not afraid to dive into unfamiliar code. You take the time to discuss trade-offs in application, database, and infrastructure architecture. You are accustomed to on-call rotations and have the expertise to triage and route alerts to appropriate teams. You have worked across departments on large initiatives related to security, compliance, and business continuity. You bring strong technical expertise and excellent collaboration to help better our team and improve the lives of our service professionals (our Pros).

In your daily routine, you will
- Enjoy a mixture of software engineering, site reliability engineering, automation, performance optimization, security, and operations work
- Build infrastructure in a public cloud using Infrastructure as Code
- Automate deployment processes and create deployment pipelines
- Enable our engineering team to ship rapidly, safely, and often
- Build, maintain, and monitor infrastructure in our cloud environments with an eye to both flexibility and long-term viability
- Work cross functionally with our feature teams to identify infrastructure, security, and reliability needs and solutions
- Provide technical leadership, architectural insights, and individual contributor work across engineering
- Operate large web applications in production
- Work directly with feature teams to optimize the development experience

We think that this offer is for you if you
- ✅Extensive knowledge of containerization tools like Docker, you’re able to run containers in production using orchestrators (ex. Kubernetes or ECS).
- ✅Experience running Kubernetes in a production environment
- ✅Experience with distributed monitoring (Datadog, newrelic or similar)
- ✅5 years of experience in IT
- ✅Great communication skills and the ability to communicate your plans across the engineering team.
- ✅Experience in building infrastructure in a public cloud using Infrastructure as Code (ex. Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, or CDK)
- ✅Intimately familiar with building and operating infrastructure and applications on AWS

- ✔ the ability to explain complex topics in simple ways
- ✔ Experience in fault-resistant high availability environments
- ✔ Familiarity with one of the languages: Python, Golang - you are able to use them to automate tasks and drive integrations with 3rd party APIs
- ✔ Extensive practice with Linux and solve common problems with other open-source tools
- ✔ Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery/Deployment using tools such as GitLab, TravisCI, CircleCI, Jenkins, etc
- ✔ Experience working with relational databases like MySQL or Postgres
- ✔ Experience with data streaming tools (ex. ETL Works, Confluent Cloud, Kafka)
- ✔ Curiosity - we need people that want to change status quo
- ✔ Commitment - able to execute, even if outside of area of expertise
- ✔ Willingness to learn
