Looking for a WordPress developer to join ongoing dev work on a WooCommerce-based platform. 💵 Pay: $15/hr 🕓 Availability: Full-time (~40 hrs/week) 🌍 Remote: Yes ⏱ Preferred: Some overlap with US Central Time (UTC-5), ideally 3–5 hrs/day 🚨 Start: ASAP — I’m reviewing candidates this week --- ✅ What You’ll Be Working On: - Writing new plugin and theme features (not just settings tweaks) - Refactoring existing code (hooks, filters, helper functions, templates) - Improving performance, adding logic, fixing WooCommerce quirks - Managing work via Git → GitHub (branches, pull requests, code review) --- ✅ Must-Haves: - You've written your own plugin or added meaningful features to one - You communicate clearly and often — updates, blockers, and questions are expected, not optional - You understand how WooCommerce modifies checkout, cart, product logic - You write and refactor clean, functional PHP — not “whatever works” - You know how to use GitHub — commits, PRs, branches - You don’t blindly feed instructions to ChatGPT and submit the output — I’ll know, and I’ll pass --- 🧪 Test Task: You’ll get a short plugin-based task to show how you approach structure and logic. Real-world, not academic. Time-boxed and reviewed. --- 🧠 Bonus Points If You Know: - Custom post types, shortcodes, wp-cli, Action Scheduler - Frontend JS inside WP themes/plugins - How to ask good questions when specs are unclear - How to leave teammate-level comments, not auto-generated ones Extra extra points if you hate jQuery—it’s long overdue for a global funeral. --- 📬 To Apply: Send a quick message answering: 1. A WooCommerce hook or filter you’ve used recently 2. A plugin or theme code sample you’ve written (link or zip. It’s okay if you don't have anything public, the test task will help us assess) 3. When can you start, and can you overlap with US Central Time (UTC-5)? --- I’m the dev manager in this project, so we'll be working together. I’m looking for someone solid with the core fundamentals, who can follow structure, keep improving over time, and own tasks with minimal hand-holding. We need someone in place this week (last week, really) — if you’re a match, we’ll move fast.
